Faculty Member and former Toronto Staff Sgt. Jamal Khan addresses guests and graduates with the charge, “Your work has only now just begun!”

Family, friends and faculty all gathered together to honour a new crop of graduating students at the Paradise Banquet Hall in Vaughn on November 25th, 2015.   Guests were treated to a live rendition of O’Canada by the amazing voice of Patricia Shirley, as well as an address from both faculty and honoured guest speakers which included Dennis Waddle, a former faculty and staff Sgt. with the Hamilton Police Department, Sgt. Paul Chiang from York Regional Police and Superintendent Selwyn (Sam) Fernandes.

As the keynote speaker, Inspector Fernandes recounted how he has successfully worked with the students at the Queen’s College Police Foundations program for three decades and has always had our graduates working in his precinct, having worked in several locations he is now in charge of 32 Division.  Last year Inspector Fernandes was given the Order of Merit of the Police Forces, by Governor General David Johnston for his exceptional service that extends well beyond the traditional policing roles.

Queens College Police Foundations Graduation November 24 2015

We wish the graduates the best of luck as they now seek positions to join other graduates in the local, regional and national police forces.  An exciting career where no two days are ever the same may success and safety always accompany them on their journey.

Queen's College Police Foundations ProgramSchool Director Jennifer Zhang congratulated all students as she reminded them that Opportunity is when Luck and Preparation come together and the rest of it is all hard work.
